Including Acupuncture in Athletic Training

Runner compressedWe’re entering race season in Nashville, which means it’s training time! Acupuncture is a popular part of training regimens for marathoners and other endurance athletes in Japan, and is valuable to add to your training routine, too. Acupuncture increases blood and oxygen flow, reduces the risk of injury, and helps heal injuries faster when they do occur. Spring is almost in the air! (Allergies will be here soon, too)

Spring will be here before we know it. Longer days, brighter skies, warmer weather, outdoor activities, and… allergens. Pollen, cut grass, and more can stimulate sneezes and scratchy throats, and other unpleasant symptoms. NOW is the time to build up your body’s defenses with acupuncture and herbal supplements. It’s not too late to sign up for a membership, and we are now offering 6-packs of sessions for massage or acupuncture for just $390. Call to schedule today, 615-939-2787.

It’s not too late to purchase gift cards for your Valentine. There’s a cheesy line in there somewhere about Cupid’s arrow piercing their heart and an acupuncture needle…. We’ll let you write that in the card. 615-939-2787

Holy shiitake!

Holy shiitake!

Did you know a serving of shiitake mushrooms has enough Vitamin D as a glass of milk? When we’re in the doldrums of winter, it’s important to make sure we get a lot of Vitamin D in our diet because we don’t get as much sunshine. Shiitake mushrooms are great in eggs (egg yolk is another great source of Vitamin D), pasta dishes, stir fry, soup, and much more. We like to slice, sautee with onion and kale, and serve with thin cut pork chops.
